Institutional Analysis: It is unlikely that the German economy will turn the corner in the next three to six months.

On February 24, BMI analysts, a research arm of Fitch, said in a webinar that the German economy is unlikely to rebound in the next three to six months, as the country faces fundamental challenges such as high energy costs, lagging innovation and declining global competitiveness. A weak global demand outlook and geopolitical risks, including the US-EU trade war, threaten to push Germany into a third consecutive year of economic contraction, they said.
