The European Investment Bank issued 1 billion euros in digital bonds for wholesale CBDC Settlement
Odaily Planet Daily News European Investment Bank (EIB) issued its fifth digital bond with a scale of 100 million euros, using the pilot euro wholesale Central Bank Digital Money (wCBDC) for settlement, which is part of the wholesale DLT settlement experiment conducted by the European Central Bank this month. EIB issuanceed this digital bond on the HSBC Orion platform, which is the second time EIB has used the platform. Each digital bond issued by the European Investment Bank explores a new feature, often involving different issuance platforms. Its first issuance was on the Ethereum blockchain in 2021. The fourth bond is a green bond, and the latest bond utilizes a new type of Settlement asset. (Ledger Insights)
