Bank of America: 26% of respondents believe that Bessent will become the next Fed chair.
On July 15, a Bank of America global fund manager survey for July showed that Treasury Secretary Basant is the most popular candidate to succeed Fed Chair Powell. President Trump is expected to nominate a new Fed chair in the second half of 2025, while Powell's term will end in May 2026. The survey found that 26% of respondents believe Basant will become the next Fed chair, followed by 17% supporting Walsh, 14% supporting Waller, and 7% believing Hassett will be elected. ( Jin10 )
