Galxe: The Pioneer of Web3 Credential Data Networks

Project Overview

As one of the representative projects of the Web3 credential data network, Galxe(, formerly known as Project Galaxy), is dedicated to providing brands and developers with the ability to engage with the community and build robust products in the Web3 world. As of now, Galxe has over 30 million users, becoming the largest Web3 task platform and community activity platform to date.

Galxe's core goal is to help Web3 developers fully leverage credential data to create outstanding products and vibrant communities. At the same time, the platform encourages data administrators to contribute to its credential data network and receive corresponding rewards after their data is used. Galxe's infrastructure supports managing credentials through multiple data sources: for on-chain credentials, contributors can provide subgraph queries or static snapshots; for off-chain credentials, Galxe integrates multiple mainstream data sources.

As a Web3 task platform and community activity platform, Galxe primarily serves two purposes: first, to enable project parties to create gamified experiences for their products through NFTs/OAT, thereby attracting new users; second, to help project parties improve user retention, allowing users to claim certificates and receive rewards after using the project party's products.

Galxe ID

Galxe ID aims to become the user's "Web3 LinkedIn" with the following key features:

1. A unified username for users' multi-chain/multi-wallet identities in Web3.
2. Showcase the credentials and achievement history collected by users in the Web3 world.
3. As a metaverse DID, developers can integrate the Galxe ID toolkit to provide customized features or enrich user profiles in products based on users' digital credentials.

Galxe OAT (On-chain Achievement Token)

Galxe OAT is a lightweight solution that enables event organizers and community managers to easily build and distribute NFT badge events using Galxe's NFT infrastructure and on-chain credential data network, and reward community members. In short, Galxe OATs are digital records of all achievements in a user's lifetime.

Event organizers can create dedicated pages on the platform by simply submitting parameters and badge designs to create events and certificates. Users can request their NFTs via email and enjoy a gas-free minting experience.

Currently, OAT is only available under the ERC-721 standard on Polygon and is natively supported by mainstream NFT markets and wallet applications. The metadata for all OAT NFTs is stored on NFT.Storage, supported by IPFS and Filecoin. In the future, the application scope of Galxe OAT will expand to real-world events and life experiences.

Galxe Passport

Galxe Passport is a universal identity for users to explore Web3, designed to provide a secure and private way to store data. It encrypts users' identity information, accessible only by the users themselves. Users have complete control over when, how, and with whom to share this information.

For compliance purposes, users can use the Galxe Passport as a universal identity across different applications. Through the verification process, users can mint and obtain unique Galxe Passport Soulbound tokens to prove their verified identity.

Although the Galxe Passport sparked controversy in its initial launch in September 2022 due to its mandatory KYC process and collection of private information, this did not hinder its rapid growth. In just five months, over 80,000 users have completed the KYC certification.
