Bitcoin announcement from Japanese e-commerce giant: Payments begin

Mercari, known as Japan's largest e-commerce giant with 22 million monthly active users, has announced that it will also allow Bitcoin payments. In the Mercari application, which has a monthly volume of 74 million dollars, prices will still be displayed in Japanese yen, but payments can be made in BTC.

Payments will be made by Melcoin, a Japan-based subsidiary of the company. In other words, Melcoin will act as an intermediary firm.

In March last year, Mercari launched its own Bitcoin trading platform. On this platform, users also earn points that they can then spend.

Japan is known for the positive steps it has taken in cryptocurrencies recently. Fumio Kishida, the country's prime minister, has stated that they will continue to support the Web3 industry and that Web3 is a new variant of capitalism.

In Japan, SBI Holdings, one of the country's largest financial companies, recently announced a new partnership with Circle, the issuer of USDC. The deal aims to enable the integration of Circle's Web3 services and USDC into the Japanese financial system.

Therefore, it can be said that the Japanese state mind supports all these developments.
