RBA says decision on digital Australian dollar could take years


PANews, August 23, According to CoinDesk, the Reserve Bank of Australia announced on Wednesday that Australia will not be making any decisions on a central bank digital currency (CBDC) for several years due to several issues that remained unresolved at the end of the pilot project. The RBA said in its report: “Given the many unresolved issues, any decision regarding Australia's CBDC is likely to take several years, and the project has not undertaken a full assessment of the costs, benefits, risks and other implications of introducing a new CBDC.
