The Ethereum Foundation zkEVM team proposed a real-time proof standard, aimed at achieving local proof computation in office buildings and even some residences.
According to Foresight News, Sophia Gold, a developer from the Ethereum Foundation, stated that the L1 zkEVM is about to log in to the Ethereum mainnet, which will significantly increase the Gas limit and achieve native zk-rollup support without sacrificing security, liveness, and censorship resistance. As the first step, the Ethereum Foundation's zkEVM team has proposed a realtime proving standard, aiming to achieve local proof computation in office buildings and even some residences. Relevant parameters include: mainnet block P99 latency controlled within 10 seconds; local device investment not exceeding $100,000; power consumption not exceeding 10kW; completely open source; security at least reaching 128 bits; proof size not exceeding 300KiB, and no trusted setup required. Sophia expects that, with the accelerated progress of multiple zkVMs, this goal is likely to be achieved before the Devconnect Argentina conference in November this year. She stated, "The future of the Ethereum execution layer has arrived."
