Oasys releases technical roadmap focusing on three core directions for blockchain games
Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap, Focusing on Three Major Directions for Blockchain Game Development
The Japanese gaming public chain Oasys has recently released its latest technical roadmap, marking an important milestone on the occasion of the project's second anniversary. This roadmap proposes a series of solutions and plans centered around three core directions: application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability.
Oasys, as a public chain platform focused on bringing traditional games into the Web3 world, has its design philosophy rooted in 40 years of gaming culture in Japan. The platform adopts a highly scalable architecture design that combines Layer 1 (Hub Layer) and Layer 2 (Verse Layer) to achieve high network stability, high scalability, and high data availability.
Despite the continuous improvement of the underlying blockchain technology in recent years, there are still many challenges in practical applications. Oasys's updated technology roadmap aims to address these key issues:
Continuity of game assets: To address the potential lack of continuity of user assets in a modular architecture, Oasys has proposed an innovative solution to mirror game assets from Layer 2 to Layer 1. This ensures that even if Layer 2 data is discarded, user assets remain permanently protected.
Interoperability of Layer 2: Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt a universal data format, and standardize APIs to achieve seamless interoperability between different Layer 2s. This will allow users to freely transfer data and assets between various games within the Oasys ecosystem.
Ecosystem Scalability: Oasys works closely with ecosystem partners to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to support ecosystem construction and reduce technical barriers. The launch of the Oasys Verse Development Kit (VDK) will allow businesses to quickly access pre-set ecosystem components, accelerating project launches and content development.
The roadmap also details specific goals for the short term (within 1 year) and the medium term (2-3 years):
Short-term goals include:
The medium-term goals include:
Oasys has made significant progress in practical applications. In May, Oasys launched the L2 chain XPLA Verse, and several well-known games from the South Korean gaming giant Com2uS will be launched on this chain. Additionally, a blockchain game based on the classic Japanese manga "Captain Tsubasa" has also officially launched on the Oasys platform.
In terms of expanding its ecosystem, Oasys has reached a strategic cooperation this year with Japan's SBI Group and South Korea's Kakao's Web3 gaming division Metabora SG to further enhance its influence in the Asian market.
With the gradual implementation of the technology roadmap, Oasys is steadily advancing towards its vision of establishing global standards for blockchain games, creating value for players and developers while also bringing new experiences and opportunities to the entire gaming industry.
