SUI Founder Interpretation: Move Language, ZK Log In, and Future Development Blueprint
SUI Founder Adeniyi Abiodun Interprets the Development and Future of SUI
SUI is a global coordination layer aimed at addressing the increasing centralization of the internet. The core team of SUI comes from Facebook's Libra project, and they hope to continue realizing the vision of building a global computer. SUI is not just a blockchain, but a powerful developer platform that allows developers to expose services or APIs through smart contracts.
One of the cores of SUI is its unique smart contract programming language, Move. The characteristics of the Move language lie in its simplicity and efficiency, allowing developers to achieve more functionality with less code and without the need for cumbersome security checks, which reduces the risk of code vulnerabilities.
SUI is an object-based system, rather than a traditional account system, which gives developers greater flexibility when building applications. The learning curve for the Move language is relatively short, and developers can usually master it within three to four days, enabling them to quickly build high-quality applications.
The goal of SUI is not simply to imitate the successful models of other blockchains, but to focus on enhancing the developer experience. They believe that if they can provide developers with an excellent user experience, they will stand out in the competition.
SUI has introduced a ZK login mechanism, allowing users to easily create on-chain accounts through Web 2 accounts without traditional wallet operations. In addition, the sponsorship transaction feature enables users to pay gas fees in the background, all of which allow SUI to provide a Web 2-like user experience while enjoying the advantages of Web 3.
SUI is one of the chains with the lowest latency in the market, and the actual final confirmation speed of transactions is far faster than that of other chains. SUI's unique programmable transaction block feature allows users to execute multiple interdependent transactions in a single transaction, providing unprecedented opportunities for arbitrage.
The SUI ecosystem will introduce wallets from other ecosystems, although specific details have not been disclosed. The SUI wallet will focus on simplifying the process of funds coming in and out for users, including the ability to deposit and withdraw cash directly from the wallet.
There are multiple aggregator projects on SUI, which can help users find the best trading paths. For example, aggregators such as Hop, Aftermath, and Situs can view all liquidity pools and trading locations across the entire chain, thereby providing users with optimal trade execution.
SUI is developing a gaming device called SUI Blazer X1. This device can play games from platforms like Steam and Epic, and allows users to enjoy gaming anytime and anywhere while traveling. It supports in-app purchases for Web3 games, avoiding the high fees of traditional app stores, providing greater convenience for players.
SUI recently launched the consensus mechanism Mr. SETI. By using Mr. SETI, SUI is able to ensure that transactions are confirmed in less than one second while processing 100,000 transactions per second. This stands in stark contrast to other blockchains, which often experience significant delays at high throughput.
SUI will also launch a decentralized storage platform called Walrus. Walrus can not only store data but also host entire websites. The storage costs of Walrus are much cheaper compared to other blockchains, for example, the cost of storing data on SUI is 100 times cheaper than on Solana and 2000 times cheaper than on Ethereum.
SUI currently has about 27 to 28 million active wallets. It is expected that by next year, the number of unique active wallets for SUI may exceed 120 million. SUI attracts Web 2 users through its ZK login mechanism, which will allow it to far surpass other platforms in terms of user growth.
Currently, about 7% of the active developers each month use Move. SUI has set a goal to attract over 25,000 active Move developers by November 2025.
The goal of SUI is to win the hearts and minds of developers, ensuring they can build successfully and profitably on SUI, thus providing products and services to a broader user base. SUI is working to optimize its existing core to enhance speed and plans to scale the system by adding more machines.
