AMPL and FORTH. The protocol uses an innovative approach to produce its native AMPL token. Via a set of instructions on Ethereum, the protocol adjusts the supply of the native AMPL token per demand. AMPL supports the Ampleforth ecosystem and is used in the building blocks of the Ampleforth Elastic Finance Ecosystem. It is a decentralized unit that is produced via smart contracts on Ethereum and can be used for lending and borrowing, creating derivatives, as well as for collateral for decentralized stablecoins.FORTH, the platform’s other token, is used in the Ampleforth platform and in FORTH DAO governance.What can FORTH be used for?As mentioned, FORTH unlocks opportunities for its holders to take part in Ampleforth Governance. The governance process takes the form of 6 phases necessary in order to implement changes to the protocol. The process becomes increasingly binding as ideas and proposals get developed and, eventually, deployed on the protocol.In more detail, the steps are as follows.Discussion. Ideas can be discussed across the platform’s social channels, for example, discord, community DAOs, and social media.Proposals. Ideas that have gathered general support from the discussion phase can be put forward as proposals in the form of AIPs and ACCPs.Targeted Discussion. Proposals are then formally discussed in a dedicated forum. Any issues or finer details can be resolved at this stage.Off-chain Signaling. In cases where the Targeted Discussion phase was unsuccessful in producing a clear plan, the proposal can move forward to off-chain signalling from token holders only.Technical Development. Once all issues are decided upon, the proposals are implemented in code, tested and audited.Binding Vote/Deployment. FORTH holders can vote or delegate the
