AI and Blockchain Integration: Leading a New Era of Technological Revolution
AI and Blockchain: The Twin Wings of Technological Revolution
In recent years, the rapid development of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology has been remarkable. As one of the first users to try ChatGPT, I am both amazed by its capabilities and somewhat disappointed. Although ChatGPT performs excellently in certain areas, its answers still seem superficial on some highly specialized questions.
However, the impact of AI on various industries is enormous. Many companies are evaluating the effects of introducing AI on workflows, expecting that certain positions may be significantly reduced. AI is expected to replace a large number of "brick-moving cognitive" jobs, while becoming an efficiency assistant for "creative cognitive" and "practical physical" jobs.
As the parameters of AI models continue to increase, general artificial intelligence may be achieved within 20 years. In the face of such powerful productivity, we need to think about corresponding production relations. Blockchain technology may play an important role in this regard, providing reasonable constraints and guidance for AI development through its characteristics such as decentralization and smart contracts.
Interestingly, the birth dates of AI and Blockchain technology are very close. In 2007, Hinton published a groundbreaking paper on deep learning, and in 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto released the Bitcoin white paper. These two technologies seem destined to have profound interactions in the future.
Looking back at history, the development trajectory of Eastern and Western civilizations is full of drama. Starting from the end of the 15th century, China implemented a long-term policy of isolation during the Ming and Qing dynasties, while the West entered the Age of Discovery. This difference created the distinct fates of the East and West over the next 500 years.
Nowadays, the world is in a diverse and confusing state. Technology brings significant productivity improvements, but geopolitical conflicts are intensifying. In the face of emerging technologies like AI, we need to find appropriate ways to guide and control them. Technologies like Blockchain may play a role in this, but ultimately it still depends on human wisdom to grasp the direction of technological development.
