A US court froze 57.65 million USDC involved in the LIBRA class action lawsuit.
Gate News bot news, in a class action lawsuit against the controversial meme coin Libra, a federal court in the United States has frozen approximately 57.65 million USD worth of USDC.
Max Burwick, the attorney for the class action, stated: "Yesterday, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York issued a temporary restraining order at our request, with the support of Burwick Law Firm, freezing approximately $57.65 million USDC."
He also added that the court plans to hold a hearing on June 9 to determine whether these assets will continue to be frozen during the class action.
On March 17, Burwick, representing Omar Hurlock and other plaintiffs, filed a class action lawsuit against the cryptocurrency venture firm Kelsier Ventures and its three co-founders, Gideon, Thomas, and Hayden Davis, accusing them of creating the Libra (LIBRA) cryptocurrency and inducing investors to subsequently withdraw over $100 million from a one-sided liquidity pool.
The lawsuit also names blockchain infrastructure company KIP Protocol and its CEO Julian Peh, as well as Meteora and its co-founder Benjamin Chow as defendants.
Specifically, on May 28, at 3:15 AM and 3:18 AM (UTC), two Solana wallets with a total USDC balance of 57.65 million USD were frozen.
The data from the Solana blockchain explorer Solscan shows that the address "3Fwr…ZQpK" has frozen USDC worth 44.59 million dollars, while the wallet address "3nHw…xNgH" has frozen just over 13 million dollars worth of USDC. Both wallets have been frozen by the Multisig Freeze Authority.
