Vitalik Buterin explained the 'main reason' users prefer Ethereum! "Neither speed nor scalability..."
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated in an interview with CNBC in Cannes that the reasons institutional investors prefer Ethereum are, contrary to popular belief, not "scalability" or "speed," but stability and reliability.
Buterin said, "Many institutions tell us that they prefer Ethereum directly because it is stable, reliable, and has not collapsed."
According to Buterin, the fact that Ethereum has not experienced even a second of downtime in its ten-year history is becoming a significant trust factor for institutional investors. In his keynote speech at the EthCC event in Paris, Buterin addressed the future development direction of the Ethereum network and the "value test" faced during this period of accelerating institutional adoption. He stated that institutions are particularly focusing on issues such as "privacy" for the future, emphasizing that these issues are much more important than the system's technical infrastructure.
Tomasz Stańczak, the new co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, also supported this view, stating that the reason institutions choose ETH is precisely these core values: "Ethereum has not been interrupted for a second in the last decade. With continuous upgrades, it has always remained committed to security and censorship resistance."
Stańczak also stated that institutions expect their transactions to occur without discrimination, fairly, in a timely manner, and without errors when sending orders to the market. With stablecoins and tokenized assets becoming increasingly mainstream, the importance of such deterministic guarantees is also growing.
