On March 5th, PANews reported that according to Zerohedge, Bloomberg macro strategist Simon White wrote an analysis stating that the market expects the US to revalue its gold reserves to provide funding for the purchase of Crypto Assets. Although Trump announced over the weekend that he plans to establish a strategic reserve fund for Crypto Assets, he did not address how these Crypto Assets would be purchased, leaving open the possibility for the revaluation of US gold reserves. US Treasury Secretary Benson's recent comments on the monetization of assets on the asset side of the balance sheet pointed out a feasible way for funding a Cryptocurrency fund, i.e., the US could revalue its gold holdings. However, revaluing gold could weaken or strengthen the reserve status of the US dollar, jeopardize the independence of the Federal Reserve, and have significant implications.
