Analysts: Trump's new tariff threats will have negative effects.

Odaily News Analysts are concerned about the economic and diplomatic consequences following U.S. President Trump’s threat to impose a 30% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and the EU starting August 1. Mary Lovely, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, warned that Trump’s tariffs would lead to price rises and unemployment at the right time, while Allen Sykes from Stanford Law School expressed worries about whether the U.S. could be seen as a credible party in future negotiations.
