Musk criticizes tax reform bill as "absurd"; White House: does not affect Trump's position.
White House press secretary Levitt said Elon Musk's criticism "won't change" U.S. President Donald Trump's support for the massive tax and spending bill. It is reported that Musk posted on social media platforms on the same day that the large-scale bill was "ridiculous and full of political manipulation". Musk said the bill would smash the budget deficit to $2.5 trillion, leaving American citizens with an unbearable debt burden. Musk has also previously criticized the bill, saying that Trump's "beautiful big bill" undermines his cost-cutting efforts in the Department of Government Efficiency and will increase the budget deficit. Russell Water, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), responded to the remarks, saying that the bill would not increase the deficit and would not harm debt. (CCTV News)
