Powell, with a complete loser vibe, resembles a 23-year-old college graduate who is broke and no one wants to date him, much like how no major financial group in the U.S. wants to help him make money. He begins to resent the world and finally finds the worst kind of dead-end job. He starts to toughen up, able to afford 10 yuan buns and fried dough sticks, thinking he is invincible. Unfortunately, he is not 23 but rather in his sixties or seventies. At this point, he doesn't even qualify as a loser; he can be likened to a smelly, hard rock in a toilet, desperately trying to gain some presence.
