BlockBeats reports that on November 13th, the zkEVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) developed by Consensys continues to move towards decentralization by establishing the Linea Association. The Linea Association is a non-profit organization based in Switzerland, aimed at promoting the growth and governance of Linea. The association was officially announced on November 13th at the Devcon conference in Bangkok, Thailand. The newly established association will have three main goals: to support Linear technology, develop the Linea market, and further advance Linea's decentralization roadmap, said Declan Fox, the product manager of Linea. Joseph Lubin, the founder of Consensys and a contributor to Ethereum, believes that the Linea Association is an important step towards achieving true decentralization of the network, avoiding excessive control by any governance entity. The Linea Association will oversee the development and governance of Linea's open source technology and ecosystem, and promote the growth of Linea's zkEVM layer 1 mainnet Linea, supported by Consensys, to expand Ethereum while maintaining its security and decentralization features. One of the core features operated by the Linea Association is Jeton holder governance, which means that Linea Jeton will be issued in the first quarter of 2025. According to the plan, the Linea Association will be able to provide governance rights to Jeton holders, allowing them to participate in certain activities of the association. The association will be responsible for managing the core Linea intellectual property and fund pool to support its mission. (Cointelegraph)
