An Israeli official mentioned that the Trump administration did not criticize this weeks-long timeline in private discussions. A White House official indicated that the U.S. government is aware of and secretly supports Israel's plans. When asked how long the conflict would last, the official stated that it depends on Iran's response, "The Trump administration firmly believes that this issue can be resolved by continuing negotiations with the United States." He added that the U.S. will not instruct Israel to take any action, only to protect itself.
